About
Pocket Verdict started as a group chat where four friends kept swapping screenshots of weird mobile games nobody else seemed to be talking about. At some point the messages got too long to stay in a chat, so we turned them into a site. Everything you read here comes from people who put the game on their own phones and played it during commutes, lunch breaks, and far too many late nights.
We care most about indie and smaller studio titles, because that's where the surprises live. A two-person team will sometimes build a control scheme or a little story moment that a big release never bothers to try. We try to reward that, and to be honest when an interesting idea doesn't quite land.
Choosing what to cover is simple but strict. One of us plays a game long enough to form a real opinion, then the rest of the team plays it too if there's any disagreement. Only after that does a review get written. We don't rate things from trailers, and we don't trust a single first impression.
The site is small on purpose. We'd rather publish one review we stand behind than five we rushed. If that sounds like your kind of place, stick around.
